About the position

Clearwater Fish Hatchery is a production facility responsible for spawning and rearing Chinook and Steelhead.  The Clearwater Fish Hatchery is seeking one temporary Fisheries Biological Aide (non-benefited) to perform routine duties associated with fish culture and help maintaining grounds and facility. **ADULT CHINOOK TRAP TENDING POSSABILITIES**

General Information
Incumbents must, with or without reasonable accommodations, be able to stand and work in adverse weather conditions, sometimes working in cold water for up to eight hours per shift, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. Dormitory style housing is provided on site, but is not mandatory. Most workdays are from 7:30am to 4:00pm and generally consists of a 40 hour work week. Incumbents may be required to work a 10 day on 4 days off work rotation with fellow Fisheries Biological Aides.
Qualifications
Applicants must be able to work well in a team environment and independently as needed, take direction and follow protocols effectively. Applicants must be well organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, responsible, and safety conscious. Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license. Fisheries related experience and education is strongly preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
Routine duties include, but are not limited to: weighing fish feed and feeding fish; cleaning and caring for fish in rearing units; data collection; data entry; sampling fish; maintaining grounds and equipment; operating landscaping equipment; power washing raceways; cleaning offices and hatchery facilities.
