Coho Salmon in Idaho
Coho salmon are often called silver salmon. The adults leave the ocean in August and September to spawn in Idaho during October and November in tributary streams to the Clearwater River. The juvenile fish live there for a year before migrating to the ocean during the late spring. Idaho coho likely move north to live off the coasts of Washington and British Columbia for 1-2 years before returning to spawn.
