No motorized vehicles allowed; foot access only.

Access Information

All rules apply to hunting pheasant release areas with the following exceptions and special procedures for the Southeast Region:

  • Park in designated areas only
  • Hunter orange required
  • Upland game bird permit required (hunters 18 and older)
  • No shooting from or across roads 
  • 30 people maximum per day – must register in advance
  • Two time slots – 10am to 1pm, 2pm to the end of shooting hours
  • No hunting prior to your designated time slot; hunters must vacate the property when their time slot ends
  • Mentors with a youth present are allowed to harvest pheasants on Saturdays
  • Registration limited to once per week and no more than 2 weekend dates total for the season
  • A printed registration must be left in the dashboard of your vehicle
  • Registration can occur up to 21 days in advance.

Areas with stocked birds are popular and can experience high hunter use. Please be courteous to others you encounter.

Shooting Hours

Shooting hours for upland game birds on Upland Game Bird Permit Release Areas are 10:00 am (local time) to one-half hour after sunset.
