The Clearwater region is home to the largest wilderness and primitive areas in the lower 48 states. These areas are accessible only by foot, boat, or horseback and challenge even the most experienced hunters and anglers. Chinook salmon, coho salmon, steelhead, and sturgeon are native to the Clearwater, Snake, and Salmon rivers.

Elevations in the Clearwater range from 753 at Lewiston to 9,393 at He Devil of the Seven Devil’s Wilderness area.

Friday, February 2, 2024 - 11:20 AM MSTTwin Bridges campground is located south of the community of Whitebird off of Highway 95. This closure is due to necessary CWD control actions and will remain in effect until further notice.
